Grey area drinking describes the space between occasionally having a glass of wine and being alcohol-dependent — and it's where many women quietly find themselves. You might not think you have a 'problem,' but alcohol has become a way to cope, unwind, or switch off. If you're questioning your relationship with drinking, you're already in the right place.

What's the difference between sobriety coaching and therapy?

Therapy typically explores past experiences, trauma, and psychological patterns — and it has real value. Coaching is different. It's strengths-based, action-oriented, and focused on where you're going rather than where you've been. If you're ready to make changes and want practical, compassionate support to do it, coaching is likely the right fit.

Do you only work with women?

While the majority of my clients are women, my coaching is open to anyone. My approach is inclusive and always tailored to the individual — whatever your background or circumstances.

Do you work with people who are alcohol-dependent?

Accepted Answer

No — individuals with alcohol dependency require a specialist level of clinical care that falls outside the scope of coaching. I work with people who are sober curious, in early recovery, or simply ready to make healthier choices around alcohol. Can I work with you if drinking isn't my concern?

I offer a range of coaching support including: 1-2-1 Coaching — personalised, confidential sessions tailored entirely to you; The 100-Day Reset — a group coaching programme running from Sober October through to the New Year; Masterclasses — focused sessions on confidence, stress, and alcohol-free living; and Online Coaching — all sessions are available virtually, so location is never a barrier.

Do you work online or in person?

Every journey is different. Some clients notice a shift within a few sessions; others benefit from ongoing support over several months. There's no fixed timeline — we work at a pace that feels right for you, with the focus always on sustainable, lasting change rather than quick fixes.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes, completely. Everything discussed in our sessions stays between us. The only exceptions are legal or safeguarding obligations — for example, if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. Your privacy, trust, and growth are my absolute priorities.

What qualifications do you hold?

I hold a Life Coaching Diploma, Confidence Coaching qualification, and DISC Practitioner certification — all from The Coaching Academy. I'm also an NLP Practitioner, IPHM accredited, and a Sober Club accredited coach. Before moving into coaching, I spent 33 years working as an NHS professional, and that experience informs every aspect of my compassionate, trauma-aware approach.
