FREE 7-DAY GUIDED ALCOHOL BREAK

Take a supported seven-day break from alcohol

Understand your drinking pattern, see how you feel without alcohol and decide what you want to do next.

You’ll receive one short email each day to help you make sense of what you notice along the way.

What could you learn from seven days without alcohol?

Perhaps you’ve been wondering whether you drink more than you would like.

You may regularly decide not to drink, then reach for the wine when the working day is over. Or you may simply want to find out how a proper break affects your sleep, mood and energy.

This seven-day experiment gives you a clear structure. You take a break, pay attention to what happens and use what you learn to decide what you want to do next.

There is no requirement to label your drinking or make a long-term commitment.

What you’ll pay attention to

During the seven days, you’ll look at:

  • When you think about drinking

  • What tends to trigger the urge

  • What you expect alcohol to do for you

  • How stress, tiredness and difficult emotions affect your choices

  • Any changes you notice in your sleep, mood or energy

  • What makes an alcohol-free evening easier

  • What you may want to do differently in future

This is not about proving that you have enough willpower. It is about getting useful information about your own drinking pattern.

How it works

Once you sign up, you’ll receive one email from me each day for seven days.

Each email includes:

  • A short explanation of one aspect of drinking behaviour

  • A practical coaching prompt

  • A question to help you review what you are noticing

  • Support for deciding what to do next

The emails are brief and designed to fit into an ordinary day.

This experiment may be useful if:

  • You regularly tell yourself you should drink less

  • Wine has become your main way to switch off

  • You make rules about drinking but find them difficult to maintain

  • You are tired of thinking so much about alcohol

  • You want to see whether anything changes when you take a break

  • You are not ready to think about giving up alcohol permanently

  • You would find a daily prompt useful

You may already have watched my free workshop, Why Do I Keep Reaching for Wine?, but you do not need to have seen it. The experiment can be your next step or your starting point.

What happens after seven days?

On the final day, you’ll review what you have learned and consider your options.

You may decide to continue your break, look for more structured support or make specific changes to your drinking. You may simply finish with a clearer understanding of your habits.

You’ll also have the option to book a complimentary discovery call with me. There is no obligation to book a call or join a programme.

This experiment provides coaching and education and does not replace medical advice. If you think you may be physically dependent on alcohol or experience withdrawal symptoms when you stop drinking, speak to your GP or an alcohol support service before making changes.

Meet Annie

For years, I saw my evening wine as an ordinary way to switch off after work.

After 33 years in the NHS, I was used to being responsible, staying calm and getting on with things. My life looked successful and well managed, but I began to question why I needed alcohol to relax and why it occupied so much of my thinking.

My last drink was on 28 December 2021.

I now help women understand and change their relationship with alcohol through coaching, behaviour-change principles and practical support.

My approach combines my own experience of becoming alcohol-free with my coaching work and 33 years of NHS experience. I understand the wish to change, as well as the reasons the old pattern can keep returning.

You do not have to wait for a crisis

Many women put off making a change because their drinking does not seem serious enough.

They are still working, caring for other people, exercising, socialising and meeting their responsibilities.

But wanting better sleep, calmer mornings, more energy and freedom from thinking about alcohol is reason enough.

Join me live on 18 August to understand your relationship with wine from a different perspective and explore what a meaningful break could make possible.
